Interlake Toledo coke plant training slideshow

A helpful fan of the site was able to share a folder of what appear to be scans of slides. All evidence points to this being the Interlake Toledo coke plant (not Chicago) and with the Interlake name we know it is pre-1986. The Toledo plant closed in 1978.

I was excited to share these scans then decided I should re-create the slideshow as best I could, given the limited info I have. So I created this 4 min video!

My criteria:

  • there are 19 slides, but they are marked 1 through 20. #2 is missing
  • I wrote a voice over based on the title as given on the first slide
  • Method 303 did not exist in 1986 (or earlier) so technically this is not historically accurate.
  • The music heard at the end I took from the Interlake training tape (cassette) I found at the plant. I had to do some editing to create a full set of measures, then looped it. Initially I planned to use it throughout but decided that was a bit much.
  • I did add the slide projector sound effects
  • The only slide I edited was the last one where I added the acmecoke.com URL to keep pirates from stealing my content

Enjoy!
