Riverdale Continuous Caster Groundbreaking Ceremony

I have written on this topic before, it is often cited as one of the contributing factors to the downfall of the company. A gamble that just didn’t pay off in the end (though ironically, the caster still functions today). Steve Bennett’s speech ‘selling’ the idea to investors is an impassioned plea from a man that I think truly believed in the project. The video I profiled sometime ago is a ‘commercial’ for the monstrous machine. And of course you should have a glance at the page on the reanimated acmesteel.com.

I came across this relic on ebay sometime ago – a pretty unique item that of course I wish I had purchased as I will likely never see another. But all of these bits of information mentioned here are dull in comparison to the following photo.

That is no doubt Brian Marsden at the center. I am guessing the others are listed here. I have to think some of these others are from the Riverdale local government. If you can identify the people in the photo by name, please contact me!
